Best Time To Visit

Since Izmir has mostly a Mediterranean climate with relatively low rainfall, a cool sea breeze during the nights and heat and dry summers, it is best to visit during the months of June to August. The weather will be the most pleasant then and you will have the opportunity to explore Izmir and its surroundings. İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB)

İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport, situated 18 km southwest of the city centre, offers various transportation options to and from the airport. You can choose from the convenient Izban trains, which connect to İzmir's metro system, providing frequent and efficient transportation. Alternatively, Havaş shuttle buses are available on the arrivals floor; however, fees vary according to the destination. Taxis are readily available just outside the terminal, offering a quick and direct option. Additionally, car rental services are conveniently located inside the airport at the greeters’ hall of the domestic/international terminal arrivals floor.

Public Transport

Dolmuş is a shared minibus or van that operates on set routes, picking up and dropping off passengers along the way. These minibuses provide an affordable and flexible means of public transportation in İzmir, connecting various neighbourhoods and locations within the city. Passengers can hail a dolmuş at designated stops, and the fare is usually paid directly to the driver upon boarding. Ferries shuttle between Konak and Alsancak. The return crossing takes 1 hr 15 mins. The metro serves 24 stations in the city.

Taxi

Taxis can be flagged down on the street or found at designated taxi stands located throughout the city. These are typically at busy transportation hubs, major squares, and popular areas. Alternatively, you can book a taxi through apps like Uber and BiTaksi. Taxis in Izmir are generally safe and reliable, but it's always a good practice to be cautious and use licensed taxis to avoid any issues.
